St. Basil’s NSW & ACT is an organisation created by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, providing quality care for ageing Australians. We care for over a thousand seniors using quality accredited best practices in health and safety. About the role

Our executive team is seeking applications from skilled and experienced candidates who are interested in joining our team as our Head of Governance. As our of Head of Governance you will be responsible for all aspects of governance effectiveness and compliance within St Basil’s, ensuring governance adheres to evidence-based practices and meets all legislative, regulatory and industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate St Basils governance processes and ensuring effective governance and regulatory frameworks are embedded.
  • Building, continuously improving and providing oversight and advice on organisational risk, compliance management, and the audit framework
  • Lead and cultivate a culture of risk and quality management excellence which oversees integrated risk and quality functions, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate the review and currency of business continuity plans and the implementation of recommendations stemming from internal and external reviews, including progress reports to the CEO
  • Co-ordinate the formulation of corrective action plans and oversee the implementation and evaluation of these corrective action plans for any internal and/or external audits findings.
  • Developing and overseeing quality and compliance strategies to drive a culture of excellence and high clinical care and service standards, overall reporting on all clinical quality compliance measures for regulatory compliance to the CEO and the Board.
  • Informing evidence based practice in clinical care and service delivery to support St Basils to maintain market-leading standards in service delivery 
  • Leading the development of research based clinical practices so that consumers receive the most effective and appropriate level of care and services
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders upholding St Basils values and professional standards of behaviour.

Key Knowledge and Experience

  • Demonstrated successful and extensive experience working in a senior quality, assurance, compliance or risk management role in an aged care or healthcare setting
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing quality, risk and compliance in a complex multi-site environment 
  • Tertiary qualification(s) in Nursing, Allied Health, Quality Assurance, Risk Management or other relevant fields.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in interpreting and understanding of Aged Care legislation and regulations, regulatory requirements, risk assessment and management strategies.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills focused on mentoring and coaching others to lead quality management excellence across the organisation.
  • Extensive experience in risk and quality compliance preferably in health care or aged care environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify, assess and prioritise activities according to risk.
