About the position:
The Bus Driver Leisure and Lifestyle Officer/Driver is a key role to provide person-centered approach which ensures enhancement of the psychological, spiritual, social, emotional, and physical well-being of our residents.
You will be responsible for:
- Transporting St Basil’s clients to various destination.
- Ensuring the maintenance, safety and cleanliness of vehicles in preparation for the next day
- Assisting in delivering recreation activities to our residents and actively support them to maintain their physical, intellectual, emotional, cultural, and social wellbeing
- Deepening the cultural experience for our client when supporting them in meaningful activities by taking time to understand their needs, preferences, values and beliefs.
- Assisting the Leisure and Lifestyle Team to encourage our clients to attend the program to maximum capacity
- Support outings in collaboration with the Lifestyle Team
- Assisting in assessments, reviews and ongoing evaluation of the lifestyle program to ensure positive client outcomes and support ongoing education and improvements in accordance with the Aged Care Quality Standards.
About you:
You are passionate about what you do and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents, to support them to facilitate independent living, health and happiness.
To succeed in this role, you will:
- Hold a valid Class C / Light Rigid / Medium Rigid /Heavy Rigid Driver's License
- NSW Driver Authority is a mandatory requirement for this position
- Experience in lifestyle activities would be great
- Be a masterful conversationalist – take pride in your ‘performance’ on outings and when engaging in activities with Clients, friends and families
- Strong communication and documentation skills to support with outing forms and engagement records
- Be confident in using a smartphone and a computer
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team, as well as the confidence to work independently
- Greek speaking (preferred) to support our resident demographic
